Grifes de luxo como Burberry, Prada, Hermès e Chanel, marcas de artigos esportivos como Adidas, Nike e Puma, e marcas de moda fast fashion como H&M, Gap e Carrefour, são apenas algumas das 32 empresas globais envolvidas no projeto do governo francês.

O que é o “Fashion Pact”?

O documento foi criado utilizando como base o Pacto Global de sustentabilidade da ONU. Este tem como objetivo, acima de tudo, diminuir o impacto em três áreas: clima, oceanos e biodiversidade.

Das empresas que assinaram o tratado é esperado que eliminem as emissões de gases de efeito estufa até 2050 e reduzam o uso de plástico até 2030.

Além disso, elas precisam encontrar alternativas para a poluição causada por microfibras criadas a partir da lavagem de materiais sintéticos. E, por fim, utilizar materiais que não tenham impacto no ecossistema.

O pacto foi apresentado durante a reunião do G7, encontro dos países mais desenvolvidos do mundo, na França. Carlos Mazzi, diretor da Prada, se pronunciou sobre o assunto e contou que o tratado é um avanço.

“A partir de agora, a possibilidade de direcionar nossos objetivos com outras empresas importantes da moda representa uma esperança concreta para um desenvolvimento sustentável que ninguém poderia alcançar sozinho”, disse o diretor da grife.

O documento trata da moda como uma das indústrias com maior impacto no meio ambiente e, por isso, também deve assumir um papel importante nas mudanças rumo a um futuro mais sustentável.

De acordo com o site de pesquisa Quantis, em 2018, a indústria da moda era responsável por 8% da emissão de carbono ao redor do mundo, além da poluição da água causada por tinturas e pesticidas utilizados em plantações de algodão.

O CEO da grife Burberry, Marco Gobbetti, também se pronunciou sobre o acordo. “Sabemos que uma empresa sozinha não pode resolver os desafios ambientais que o planeta está enfrentando e acreditamos no poder desta colaboração para impulsionar uma mudança real”, disse Gobbetti.

Com certeza o pacto vem no momento certo, em que a preservação do meio ambiente precisa de toda ajuda possível. Em junho deste ano, o primeiro-ministro da França, Edouard Philippe, anunciou a proibição da queima de roupas e produtos das grifes do país, ação que causava grande impacto ambiental.
