Antes de qualquer coisa, eu preciso fazer uma pequena confissão: eu sou alucinada, completamente viciada em concurso de Miss.

Não importa se é o #MissUniverso, #MissBrasil ou #MissButeco, estou eu lá, avaliando a simpatia e a beleza das candidatas. Mas o que mais me encanta nesses concursos, sem dúvida nenhuma, é quando chega a hora do desfile dos trajes típicos.

E aqui vai uma grande frustração na minha vida: nós, brasileiras, não temos um traje típico.

O que rola na verdade é o desfile com algum traje carnavalesco, que em termos históricos, além de não ter tanta relevância, é de certa forma novo, e segundo as meninas de movimentos feministas mais radicais falariam, com certa razão, o papel dele é muito mais relacionado a sexualizar a mulher brasileira do que qualquer outra coisa. Como eu não tenho uma opinião formada sobre este assunto, e conheço muitas passistas que amam as suas fantasias, eu prefiro bancar a #isentona e terminar a minha confissão por aqui.

Um pouco da história do Qipao

Por outro lado, eu morro de amores pelos trajes típicos orientais.

E no alto do meu ranking está o Qipao (se pronuncia tchipau). Este traje delicado, repleto de detalhes e ornamentos, que tem muito a ver com a história da China e é bem antigo.

Estamos falando aqui de 1600 e lá vai bolinha, quando o Brasil ainda era bebê.

Em 1644, quando a dinastia Ming foi derrubada pelos cavaleiros da Manchúria, as mulheres da sociedade chinesa se viram livres para usar aquilo que quisessem. Originalmente, ele cobria a maior parte do corpo, deixando apenas a cabeça e as mãos descobertas. Mas isso não tinha nada a ver com qualquer código ou machismo. Na realidade, servia para proteger o corpo das temperaturas muito baixas no inverno, ou do sol extremo durante o verão.

A modernização do Qipao

O modelo que conhecemos hoje, como muita coisa bacana relacionada à moda, teve origem nos loucos anos 30. Naquela época, como ainda é hoje, Shanghai já era uma das maiores cidades chinesas, e ainda era conhecida como a Paris do Oriente.

Uma cidade cabeça aberta, urbana, onde tudo acontecia primeiro.

As pessoas falavam inglês e francês. Garotas dançavam jazz com seus crushes na night e adotavam muitos comportamentos das mulheres de Nova York e Paris. Foi ali que o modelo ganhou um corte mais ajustado ao corpo, abandonando as calças por baixo das túnicas e a modelagem em “A”.

Além disso, o Qipao tem uma grande sacada. A sua modelagem alonga a silhueta, e quem o veste geralmente adota uma postura elegante e empoderada. Por ser um traje ajustado, os movimentos precisam ser pensados, transformando cada gesto em um ato muito bonito e misterioso.

Hoje em dia, o Qipao recebe releituras feitas por estilistas famosos, como por exemplo a top designer de vestidos de noivas Vera Wang, com modelos à venda em Paris, Nova York ou Londres. E ainda, no bairro francês de Shanghai, novos criadores reinventam este traje a cada estação, com cores modernas e bordados de última geração, mas sem deixar de lado a tradição chinesa.
